Join a group

Discover your community’s groups, join the open ones or request to join those on request, and follow your request’s status.

Explore groups

Open Groups & Associations from the menu: the My groups page shows the groups you belong to. Select Explore groups to jump to Discover other groups, with the groups of the communities you follow.

The label on the card tells you how to join: Open, On request or By invite.

Open the group and ask to join

Select the group to read What it's about and Who takes part. In an open group Join the group lets you in straight away; in a group on request Request to join sends the request to the leader.

From the card in the list you can do the same with Join or Request to join. Invite-only groups have no button: ask whoever manages the group to add you.

Check the request

Join request sent successfully appears and the page shows Request pending: the group leader will review your request. Cancel request withdraws it. In an open group you see You have joined the group successfully instead.

Follow your requests

In My groups the My requests panel lists pending requests, each with Cancel. When your request is accepted, the group moves to You're a member.

What you have achieved

You’re in the group, or your request is waiting for the leader.

Troubleshooting

I see “Error joining the group”

The request didn’t go through: try again.

The group shows “By invite”

You can only join on the leader’s invitation: ask whoever manages the group to add you.

I can’t see any group to explore

The groups listed belong to the communities you follow: follow the group’s community first.
