MiaChiesaPrepare a group for Confirmation and First Communion together
Add a stage with both sacraments and configure a group to follow it.
Open paths
From Catechism, check the selected year and open Configure. The Paths step lists the stages offered this year. The combined stage is not in the starting catalogue; add it first.
Add the combined stage
Select Add the «Confirmation and First Communion» stage. Review the prefilled Stage name, School class and Birth years, then check that Concluding sacrament is Confirmation and First Communion and Offer this stage this year remains on. Text changes save when you leave the field; structural choices save immediately.
The preset stage name is initially in Italian; change Stage name if you want families to see it in English.
Configure the group
Return to this year’s groups and select New group. Enter the name and stage, meeting time, location, capacity and catechists. Under Sacrament path, choose Confirmation and First Communion; turn on This group concludes with this sacrament only if the group actually ends with the celebration.
Save and check
Select Create group. Open it in the group list and check the year, stage and path sacrament. Configuring the group does not automatically record a sacrament for children.
What you have achieved
- The combined stage is available in the year’s catalogue and the group uses both sacraments in its path.
- The created group appears among the selected year’s groups.
Troubleshooting
I cannot see the add-stage command
Check whether a stage with the same two sacraments is already in the catalogue: the command disappears when one exists.
I cannot see the sacrament on the form
Check that your community’s path includes sacraments and the combined stage is active.
I cannot create the group
Check the year, permission, required fields and any group limit shown on the page.
